The Suffolk County Department of Consumer Affairs is responsible for licensing all Home Improvement Contractors in Suffolk County, NY. In addition, if a resident of the county files a complaint, it is the department of consumer affairs that will investigate. If the department finds cause, the range from mediation all the way to revocation of license. A contractor can even be entered in the "Hall of Shame".
